Work:

My approach to choreography and movement direction explores dance as a continually evolving creative process in which to develop thought provoking and intelligent work that both entertains and challenges the audience’s experience and the possibilities of movement-based storytelling. Captured through multiple dance forms such as hip hop, creative movement, abstract dance, and UK Jazzdance to contemporary dance in cross-genre formats such as film, theatre, TV and adverts for big brands... I seek to balance commercially driven projects alongside more experimental forms of expression through a binary of cultural and commercial platforms.

As a first-generation UK hip hop theatre practitioner with an afro-futurist mindset, I take an academic curiosity to explore movement as a political and socially engaged creative experience on stage, screen and towards visual art. I have toured, nationally and internationally with performance, education and film work. Alongside my dance work, I am a published writer and am currently studying for a PhD. As a break from the weighty academic endeavours, I also create music under the name THL.
